mew-ti: Smart Driving Companion for Tokyo Expressways
mew-ti is an Android app developed by 首都高技術株式会社, designed to provide smart driving assistance specifically for the Tokyo expressways. With its unique touch controls and GPS integration, mew-ti offers dedicated road traffic information for the expressways, helping users navigate through traffic and ensuring smooth and efficient travel.
The app features real-time route search using GPS, allowing users to find the shortest time route from their current location (nearest entrance) to their selected destination. Added since October 19, 2014, this feature provides convenience and efficiency for users planning their routes.
mew-ti also provides road traffic information, allowing users to view event restrictions and congestion information in 5-minute intervals for the past 2 hours. This feature helps users make informed decisions about their travel routes and avoid congested areas.
Additionally, the app offers estimated travel time guidance. By setting up GPS functionality, users can view the estimated travel time from their current location, entrance, PA (parking area), or JCT (junction) to their destination. The app also allows users to compare routes on the map and their respective travel times, enabling them to choose the most time-efficient option.
Other useful features of mew-ti include a congestion calendar that displays event restrictions and congestion information for past dates, a map indicating accident-prone areas on the expressways, and the location of PAs within the Tokyo expressway network.
Please note that using the app while driving is prohibited by traffic laws. It is recommended to use the app when stopped or by a passenger. Additionally, an internet connection is required to use the app.
